Deer Mice are small rodents commonly found in rural areas, barns, sheds, garages, and outbuildings throughout Oklahoma. They are easily identified by their brown back, bright white belly, large eyes, and oversized ears.
Unlike House Mice, Deer Mice are primarily outdoor rodents but may enter structures in search of food and shelter. Signs of activity include droppings, nesting materials, and gnaw marks. They are known carriers of hantavirus, so droppings and nesting areas should be handled with caution.

House mice are small rodents commonly found in homes, garages, attics, and businesses throughout Oklahoma. They are typically gray to light brown with large ears, a pointed nose, and a long hairless tail.
House mice can squeeze through openings as small as ¼ inch and reproduce quickly, making infestations difficult to control. Signs of activity include droppings, gnaw marks, scratching noises, and shredded materials used for nesting. They can contaminate food and spread bacteria, making prompt control important.

Norway Rats are large, heavy-bodied rodents commonly found around homes, businesses, warehouses, and agricultural properties throughout Oklahoma. They are typically brown to gray in color with small ears, a blunt nose, and a thick tail that is shorter than their body length.
Norway Rats are strong burrowers and often nest beneath foundations, concrete slabs, wood piles, and landscaping. They can squeeze through openings as small as ½ inch and are known to contaminate food, damage property, and spread disease. Common signs of activity include droppings, gnaw marks, burrows, grease marks along walls, and scratching noises in walls or crawl spaces.

Roof Rats are slender, agile rodents known for their excellent climbing ability. They have large ears, a pointed nose, and a tail that is longer than their body. Their fur is typically black to dark brown with a lighter underside.
Unlike Norway Rats, Roof Rats prefer elevated nesting areas such as attics, ceilings, trees, and upper levels of buildings. Signs of activity include droppings, gnaw marks, scratching noises, grease marks along beams, and nesting materials. Roof Rats can contaminate food, damage property, and reproduce rapidly, making early detection important.
