Here are a few commonly asked questions we receive from our customers regarding our seasonal mosquito service. If you have any questions you do not see answered below, feel free to give us a call at (405) 330-5030, or contact us here.
Our mosquito season runs April - October, although we have serviced in November before due to abnormally warm fall temperatures. We recommend having your yard serviced all season long to see the best results, although you are able to choose which months you would like to be serviced during sign up.
The typical mosquito treatment will take 15-20 minutes, although larger yards will require additional time. The treatment itself should last approximately 28 days, which is why we schedule our mosquito services on a monthly basis throughout mosquito season.
Our technician(s) will service areas mosquitoes typically shelter during the day such as: the underside of plants, shrubs, bushes, and low hanging tree limbs, under decks, and in damp shady areas of the property. We also identify any potential mosquito breeding sites such as: flower pots, bird baths, discarded rubber tires, rain barrels, and animal troughs. These breeding sites are treated with a larvicide (that is safe for children and animals) that will prevent the mosquito larvae from becoming biting adults.
As long as your yard has had adequate time to dry after the mosquito application (usually 30 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity), rain should not impact the effectiveness of your service. However, if you do not see a reduction in mosquito activity after we have serviced your property, contact us and we will schedule a time to reassess your property and if needed, provide a follow-up application at no additional cost.
Depending on outdoor temperatures and humidity, we recommend waiting 30 minutes before heading outside to enjoy your outdoor space!
Pyrethroids (such as what we use during our mosquito applications) are hazardous to fish. Due to this, our technicians are trained to avoid fish ponds when servicing your property for mosquitoes. We do not treat swimming pools (if the swimming pool is property chlorinated, mosquitoes will not be able to breed in your pool), and our technicians are trained to not allow the mosquito spray to contact the pool water.
No. As long as your gates are unlocked and your pets are indoors, our technician can treat your property for mosquitoes without anyone being home. The technician will leave a door hanger when he is finished and will make any important notes about your property on the back of the door hanger.
To ensure the most effective treatment possible, we ask that you not run your sprinklers directly prior to or within 24 hours after your mosquito treatment.
